FAQs

Answers to common fundraising questions

We provide comprehensive fundraising support for nonprofits, including infrastructure builds, system optimization, capital campaign design, signature event planning, and annual fund development. Our services range from building a complete fundraising office from scratch to optimizing existing systems. Each engagement is customized to your organization's specific needs, capacity, and goals.

I'm a fundraising strategist with over 25 years of experience helping nonprofits build the systems and relationships that fuel sustainable growth. I started my career at the University of Michigan, where I was part of the team that raised funds for the Cardiovascular Center. From there, I built the first dedicated development office for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. After working in various fundraising roles—including at Henry Ford—I realized I wanted more flexibility to focus on what I do best: coming into organizations, building infrastructure from the ground up, and then moving on to the next challenge. That's why I started Catalyst.

A catalyst is something that triggers or accelerates change—and that's exactly what I do. I come into organizations that are stuck, struggling, or in transition, and I help them build the systems and strategies that move them forward. The name felt right because I'm not interested in maintaining the status quo. I'm here to spark transformation, create momentum, and then hand you the tools to sustain it long after I'm gone.
